INSTRUCTIONS & UNCUT PATTERN ONLY
For machine or hand sewing.
YOU WILL NEED:
2 x pieces of outer fabric, 38cm wide x 40cm tall
2 x pieces of lining fabric, 38cm wide x 47cm tall (note: the top will be turned over, so best to use fabric that looks the same both ways up)
2 x 1m lengths of 10-18mm ribbon (or drawstring cord)
Matching thread
Tools: scissors, ruler/tape measure, pins, iron, sewing machine or needle, safety pin or loop turning bar, glue stick (optional)
Note: You can use one continuous piece of outer fabric instead (38cm x 80cm) folded in half, and one continuous piece of lining fabric folded in half, if your fabric does not have a right way or wrong way up to it. If you cut one long piece of outer fabric, you must do the same for the lining, as there is no turn-though hole in the base with this pattern method. It's quicker and simpler!
Suitable fabrics: Any light to medium weight cotton, linen, corduroy, poplin, twill, canvas, denim, velvet, satin, etc. The bag on the cover image was made using Indian cotton voile.
